Cardinal Capital Construction hired #SignEffectz to help find a cost-effective solution for Middleton Market’s awnings. Middleton Market offers residential and retail space in addition to a European-style food hall market in Middleton, Wisconsin. The architect originally had the plan to create structural I-Beams to look like awnings. However, steel is insanely expensive and heavy. With the help of #SignEffectz, we proposed a cost-effective solution by fabricating the awnings out of aluminum I-Beams to keep the load of the sunshades light and achieve a piece that can be added to the exterior rather than built within the interior of the building.
Adrian Esguerra, our production designer, helped to see through any hurdles in making the impossible possible. Adrian ran calculations, sought out building penetration areas, and mounting details to accommodate avoiding typing into the structural steel. #SignEffectz was able to deliver 190 linear feet of custom-fabricated sunshades to three elevations of the Middleton Market building.
