Anything that includes the word ‘raceway’ sounds intriguing! Our crew might not be headed to a Nascar or F1 raceway, but it’s a common term used in the signage industry. #SignEffectz finished up Foxtown Market signage in Mequon in collaboration with general contractor Berghammer Construction Corporation, as part of their $50 million dollar development in Foxtown Square, Mequon.

Letters on Raceway

Foxtown Market RacewayThe signage ‘Foxtown Market’ featured face-lit faux neon channel letters with clear acrylic faces on a raceway. A raceway, crafted from aluminum, is a rectangular structure designed to enclose electrical components and wiring. Our team used 1″ black-painted aluminum angle mounting brackets. Raceway channel letters are ideal for applications where local codes, building regulations, or the facade of the building restrict remote mounting (Sign Fab, 2022). The use of raceways not only streamlines the installation process but also provides a convenient access point for any part replacements.

The image to the right demonstrates the raceway used to connect the channel letters.

Sloan FlexiBRITE Faux Neon

Inside the raceway channel letters, we used Sloan FlexiBRITE in ruby red, a faux neon LED tube with 2″ cut increments. The ends were cut and sealed per the manufacturer’s specifications. Sloan FlexiBRITE offers the aesthetic appeal of neon through flexible LED tubing, that is bendable for any array of creativity or patterns. Faux neon is the modern and safer alternative to traditional glass neon signs, featuring reduced power consumption and the absence of glass components that could pose a fire hazard.

#SignEffectz employs faux neon in numerous signs, such as those created for Colectivo Coffee, our award-winning tiger sign at Merriment Social in Milwaukee, and now, for the Foxtown Market.
