Every morning all of Wisconsin wakes up ready for action whether it’s getting the kids ready for school or heading straight to work. Within all this chaos sometimes we are left with no choice but to reflect on our thoughts in the car. Calculating the route and seeing how many minutes it’ll take. Waiting in traffic just to gradually move forward til we reach landmarks we recognize. We are always moving mentally and physically. Well according to one establishment, they dedicate all their time to doing just that. Moving.

The Beacon

About two months ago #SignEffectz was given a project. This project pertained to manufacturing a sign for #CollegeHunksHaulingJunkAndMoving. The sign was to be a backlit 3D channel letter wall sign. The first steps in the project were to keep the original design of the logo as much as possible and figure out how to keep the channel letters together since some branched off the frame. As the sign developed it was made with a combination of materials ranging from vinyl, and acrylic, and a variety of colors such as green, white, and orange.

The most important step was to figure out how to make the sign code compliant. This was due to the fact that a backlit wall sign was not code compliant in the state of Wisconsin. Eventually when the final stages were settled the channel letters and mascot were made to light up really bright in replacement for not lighting the backer. When the sign was finally installed it was made known that the sign would be facing directly at I-94. I can imagine the cars passing by at night in utter darkness when suddenly a colorful palette can be seen from a distance lighting up the interstate. A light at the end of the tunnel. A beacon amongst all the chaos. Yep, those are the type of thoughts we have here. Overall the sign was a pleasure to work on and it turned out absolutely beautiful in the end.
